Truckers' Trucking Forum/Message Board - The Premiere Truck Driver Forum

My wife and I have decided to work for Glen Moore. I will try update this blog as much as I can.

The recruiter is very nice. She had it set up that we were going to be picked up by another driver that they rented a car for so we all could get to orientation on tues morn. They would have rented us our own car but we dont live near a city that has an airport where they rent one way cars. Well the other drivers recruiter put the wrong contact number down for us and we couldnt get ahold of him and ended up taking the grey dog. We are here now in knoxville at the hotel provided by the company and a couple of vouchers for the buffet tonight. Tomarrow we will be heading to the clinic about 0715 to get all that taken care of. As for now everyone at Glen Moore is very nice and willing to help with any questions or needs.

Our Glen Moore Updates

Posted 2 Weeks Ago at 10.17 AM by countrycruisers
This is the first chance Ive had to update our Glen Moore experience since we took off for Ga. We went thu the house and p/u our stuff on the way to Ca. When we got to Ca. they had us drop at the Reddaway yard and go down to Selma to P/U for NJ. We just dropped that load at the yard in Carlisle and are doing a quick re-start and will be back at it in the morn. We had to log all the orientation time so when we got to Carlisle we only had one shift each on our log book for the next two days. This...

"Third Day of Orientation."

Same thing for breakfast got picked up around the same time. Went in this this morning and got a talk from the head mechanic and got truck assignments. The truck we go was an 07 International Eagle with 489000mls. The truck was in really good shape for the miles that are on it. And suprisingly clean. I went around the entire inside and out for inspection and found only a couple of minor things we could probably live with. We had to finish up a couple of videos for the haz-mat then we went over the...

We had the same here at the hotel for breakfast as yesterday. We were picked up around 0730 and taken to the terminal. The terminal mgr. came in and talked to us for a while then the Safty guy came in and talked to us for a while then we had Pizza for lunch. After lunch we worked on some Haz-Matt training. We were dropped off about 1730 and had $10 gift cards for Applebee's. Pretty layed back orientation compared to other company's I have been to. Both Gayla and I feel really good so far about our...

We Shut Down the U.S / Canadain Boarder.

Posted 11.30.2008 at 09.27 AM by countrycruisers
Last week my wife and I were asked if we would be interested in helping out a fellow driver stuck in Canada. She had slipped on the ice and broken her knee. The plan would be for us to split up and one of us drive this woman's truck, this woman and a load, back to Indianapolis from Kitchener, ON. It's just under 500mls and would put us where we needed to be for Thanksgiving anyway.

We crossed at Detroit. My wife had never driven while crossing and wanted the lead because she didn't...
