Truckers' Trucking Forum/Message Board - The Premiere Truck Driver Forum

My wife and I have decided to work for Glen Moore. I will try update this blog as much as I can.

The recruiter is very nice. She had it set up that we were going to be picked up by another driver that they rented a car for so we all could get to orientation on tues morn. They would have rented us our own car but we dont live near a city that has an airport where they rent one way cars. Well the other drivers recruiter put the wrong contact number down for us and we couldnt get ahold of him and ended up taking the grey dog. We are here now in knoxville at the hotel provided by the company and a couple of vouchers for the buffet tonight. Tomarrow we will be heading to the clinic about 0715 to get all that taken care of. As for now everyone at Glen Moore is very nice and willing to help with any questions or needs.

Our Glen Moore Updates

Posted 2 Weeks Ago at 10.17 AM by countrycruisers
This is the first chance Ive had to update our Glen Moore experience since we took off for Ga. We went thu the house and p/u our stuff on the way to Ca. When we got to Ca. they had us drop at the Reddaway yard and go down to Selma to P/U for NJ. We just dropped that load at the yard in Carlisle and are doing a quick re-start and will be back at it in the morn. We had to log all the orientation time so when we got to Carlisle we only had one shift each on our log book for the next two days. This week we ended up with just under 6000 mls. From what we been hearing this is the norm for teams. So far everyone at Glen Moore has been very nice to us. We are treated like the responsable adults that we are. {not true with other companys.} We are held to a higher standard and perform accordingly. We keep hearing "Customer Service" even from other drivers. This is not a problem. "It's What We Do" LOL. Ya I think we are gonna like it here.

Well, here we are in Barstow Ca. waiting to del. at the Ft. Irwin base in the morn. This has been the first time I have had a chance to get on line for any length of time since my last post. We have been running back and forth to ca. as fast as our log book would let us. We stop to take care of personals and eat and such. Sometimes we even stop to take a couple hr. nap. Never yet have I heard anything about not moving fast enough. When we were near Carlisle a couple days ago I asked if we could come by and have the shop look at the truck because an anoying engine warning light that keeps coming on and off. No proplems there they got it fixed and were headed to ca. with this military load that evening. Oh I almost forgot. The truck was in the shop and we were in the driver area and this guy comes out of the dispatch and yells out my name. Of course I instinctively yell back "I didnt do it!" He says his name is Art and he is in charge of Operations. Our fleet mgr's boss. He said that if we have and questions or concerns not to hesitate to let him know. I have had alot of driving jobs and aside from Wil-Trans this is the only one that took the time to be that personal with us on that high of a level. So far so good with the company. They pay for Idle air when we stop which is pretty cool. We are getting all the miles we can run and makeing top wage in the industry. Thats it for now. Thanks for taking the time to read this.
