"Those were the Days"
I find it fascinating what they have to say about how the world events are playing out and their lives in the past.
Most always say, "Those were the days" or "Life now certainly isn't like what it was" or
"The good ole days are gone".
Makes me think about the years long gone and which period in history I would most like to visit.
I think If I had a choice, I would like to visit, at least one day in each century or maybe beg for a little more time......lol Of course I would want to be placed in the settings that I choose...lol
I think it's cool to read on history, but to actually see and live a part of it, WOW.
Now that would be totally amazing!

| | I use "Those Were the Days" quote, in my signature email at work. I grew up watching All in the Family and although the main character, Archie Bunker, wouldn't be too pleasant about his views about what's going on today, it still would be fun to talk with "him". Well, at least someone like him. I would like to visit one of those tight-knight city dwellers that shoot the breeze at the barbers, or play cribbage or chess at the park. (to be a fly on the wall, or picnic table!) Heck, maybe I'm wrong in assuming "they" do this anymore, but I can imagine the stories I'd hear... (singing the theme song) Mister we could use a man like Herbert Hoover again Didn't need no welfare state...Everybody pulled his weight... |
