When the NOISE is to loud..................
The screaming, yelling, crying, and whatever else they were doing in their yard, which consists of games played in a pool, had just gotten to her.
MY neighbor had walked down to their house and asked if they could keep their children from screaming, as she did not want to make it a police issue. SHE told me that she was kind and considerate to them and they got mad at her and started yelling at her for her problem with thier chidren.
Well on this neighbors behalf, I have to admit they are loud unruly kids and their parents well, we won't go there. lol
So when is a Noise ordinance violated? How much does a person have to hear or put up with before they make a decision to call the police?
I checked in with our township and from what I understand the noise ordinance is anytime if something bothers another.
I have to admit I have called the police when I can't sleep from some boom box from down the street in a car or a home stereo system at 3am.
I hate to call the police on my neighbors, but feel like I may have to support my good neighbor who tried to resolve this issue nicely.
sigh.........Just another fine day in paradise.

| | I totally understand where you are coming from Cybergal...man I can remember some days.... That's why 7 years ago we moved AWAY... LOL bought ourselves 6 acres in almost the middle of nowhere...we only have one neighbour & occasionally he shows up pickled, but we tend to be able to live with that, especially since we aren't home much. Ahhh the peace & quiet of country life...wouldn't trade it for the world! |

| | I probably should not even post to this...LOL But I think that Wildcat could be an example to the people that make the "Choice" to live in Close proximity to others. While everyone should be as considerate as possible to their neighbors... Kids will be loud. Now there should be rules and boundaries... But if the Children are playing in "Their Yard" in "Their pool".............. umm I think as long as they are not doing this at a late hour, or with some form of Amplification device.... And this still bothers you and your neighbors... You and your neighbors might want to consider a more secluded area to reside? Children play. If they are playing in their Yard in the Day time.. yea... this is "normal" peace - Unless you left out details.. That I am not aware of...If so,...Sorry I retract. |

| | The noise ordinance is anytime if something bothers another person no matter what area you live in, (unless you don't have neighbors) .There is No time factor on this rule but being in the middle of this shows you no respect. I personally hate being in the middle such as yourself. I see with the comment your neighbor made she is trying to get you to side with her. Just get in your truck when the noise starts that way you can't hear the outside noise . Just Kidding |

| | I have been very deaf for many years. I would give anything to hear the noise of children playing. |

| | Not that long ago, my kids were being loud and obnoxious and nothing would keep them quiet short of a beating, which I wasn't willing to do. So when my wife came to me and said she had enough and that I had to do something about it, I put a call in to out local police. We live in a small town where nothing happens so they were cool about coming over. I explained over the phone that my kids were wound a little too tight that evening and if they could come over and tell them about the noise ordinance in town, maybe it would scare them quiet. Well, they came over with the disco balls a blazing (they brought both cars) and walked up to my kids who were playing in the yard. They then explained that they had gotten complaints about all the noise (they didn't mention that the complaint came from us) and that the law was very clear about loud noises in town after a certain hour. By this time, my wife and I had come outside and played into the whole thing. You know, "what's the problem, officer?" with a sly grin. Well, it worked. My kids promised to settle down, we exchanged a wink with the officers, and all had been quiet ever since. I realize that this doesn't really help you with your problem. But I figured you could use the smile your probably sporting now. True story. Keep the rubber side down. |
