I'm in Rawlings Wy. tonite,no hurry. Don't need to be in Denver till monday morning. But something happened today that I thought I should post. I came thru the port at the utah/wy line and took my paperwork inside. one of the people at the counter was a older lady and to say the least,SHE WAS UPSET!!!! seems she had been trying to get this middle aged "driver" to tell her where he was going. not normally a problem except he didn't speak english, or read it or function in any manner as far as english was concerned. The lady said" I am sick and tired of people comming into this office that cannot speak english" she then informed the driver that if he could not explain where he was going and what he was hauling, he was Not going to leave the port of entry until he did. Now I am not going to judge the right or wrong of the lady's actions. But I would sure like to see her and alot more like her spread throughout the western united states. As far as I' concerned this should have happened a long time ago. now on to another subject.
It seems that someone is actualy reading this drivel, and for that you have my heartfelt thanks and I hope from time to time I can put something on here thats worth reading. If I do, please be sure and tell me. I f I don't or I say something to insult or hurt your feelings, tell me that as well. It won't do any good, but you can tell me. be safe!!

If he wasn't a US citizen, he should have been turned away at the border.
When entering the US, you are supposed to be able to communicate in English.
I have seen a few drivers being returned to Canada because the officer could not understand them.
And I think you can get a ticket in Michigan if you cant speak English well enough.

p.s. Next time driver4015, can you use a bigger font?
That's pretty small or my glasses stopped working.

DOT requires ALL Drivers with a CDL to read, write speak english.

In Oregon you can't even get a CDL unless you meet the DOT requirements.
But that's not true for a standard DL. They even print a drive manuel in spanish.
