a son & his problem

hello to all its been some time that i have been behind the wheel but when i was there was no dac reports or usis whatever that is even before the dot had there nose in everyone crap now i have a son who is trying to get his thing's together and i hope for his sake or even mine he does now he is no angel thinks he knows it all well he went to a company a big one and thought he could pass there drug test well it came up positive for pot now i know he is trying and he told me that he was changing his ways and i think he is now because he now has to go thru a SA program ? and i think he is looking into it what i want to know will this hurt him can he still get a driving job he tell me that he can not get a driving job for two years is this true if ANYONE can give me advise it will help me out so i know whats going on out there well if anyone can help out him please feel free to post it thanks to all and keep it safe out there god bless

I am not for sure but i do belive it will affect him the only reason it may not is because it was a pre-employment. But I do know that if he was already driving employers would be able to see it on the back ground check and when you fil out your app with them it will ask if you have failed any and they will find out if you are lying so it is better to let them know up front. However I do know a guy that worked for a smaller company and the owner worked with him while he got clean twice but finally the third time that was it. But I do know he drives for a company now as well. Also know another guy who was given a second chance and he got his act together. I guess it just depends on who you know. Just starting out though and not knowing anybody or having any work history may be a disadvantage. Maybe the best way to find out would be to just call a few companies and ask some questiions. Thats waht I do when I'm trying to find out some info go straight to the source. Good Luck.
