Working class American...

Posted 10.09.2009 at 11.31 PM by ghostchild
Hi, I feel I must lay down some thoughts...I can't force it...it comes when it comes...
I've been working hard all week long...I'm wore out...I'm local...but don't be fooled by that terminology...I think local drivers are driven harder than otr drivers, in that it's always 'must be there now' type of loads...so you don't get to stop...a lot of it's production orientated...and so must be there asap.
I know I sound like a wimp...but yes, I'm wore out...after 12 hours...I'm just know good...my mind begins to drift...

Trucking seems to wear you out in ways other jobs don't...the main reason is
1. Your in a loud working enviornment all day long...the sound of the engine...
2. Your being thrashed around for 12 hours...like riding a bronco horse or bull...
3. When you drive...you can't make one single mistake...you have to be perfect everytime...which requires 100% concentration...to keep yourself alive and safe as well as others...

All these things combine to really wear you out...
Most other people go to work for 8 hours a day...8 hours with 2 15 min breaks and a 30 lunch...so more like 7 hours...to a trucker that would be like part-time work...

I'm wore out...and will sleep good tonight...
No alarm clock...I'll wake up when I wake up...
Anyhow...I'm a working class American...apart of the working poor...the working underclass...there's really no reason to not like me...I provide for myself and always have...
If you don't like me...than you've got issues
Well anyhow...just thought I'd say hi...
