I love driving cross country but...(there's always a "but", isn't there?)
Once I get on the left coast, I'm still at least a week away from home.

Once I start driving again, it starts to feel like I'm driving on a treadmill, you know, on a treadmill, you run and run and run but you never get anywhere.

I got to take a least one day off (this time it's from Friday afternoon to Monday morning) and days off don't take me closer to home.
And I'm on road...

I started driving this morning in Dickinson, North Dakota.
It was -27F.
When I crossed the State line into Montana on I-94, it was -33F.
Now, 475 miles after I started driving, I'm in Belgrade, Montana, sitting in my truck, having a burger with the windows rolled down.
It's now 46F.
A swing of 79 degrees in the same State in the same day.

I worked out tonight.

Posted 01.08.2009 at 07.19 PM by Quebeker
I am now 40.
I got married 10 years ago.
I started driving a truck about 8 years ago (99% of my loads are no-touch).
I quit smoking 3 years ago.
In college, I weighed 180 lbs.
When I got married I was about 200.
When I started driving, I checked in 220.
When I quit smoking, 245.
Now, 275.

So...
...Yesterday, I stopped at Wal-Mart in York, Nebraska and bought some more Slim-Fast and I found a set of Gold Gym dumbbells for $20....

A (very) early Christmas present to my wife.

Posted 11.01.2008 at 10.53 AM by Quebeker
I know you will tell me it's really for me, but it is for her.
I do admit I will get to enjoy on a part time basis.

This is what I put in her bedroom:

Samsung 1080p 40" Flat-Panel LCD HDTV (LN40A530).
Under 1K at BestBuy.

With an HDTV PVR satellite receiver.

Personal check up time.

Posted 10.28.2008 at 07.20 PM by Quebeker
Had the day off yesterday and met with 3 doctors.
I needed a physical done for the MTO (Ministry of Transportation of Ontario).
And why not fill the day with 2 more doctors.

Doc said to me that I am a healthy 40 year old.
Dentist told me I got no cavities.
And the eye doctor said my eyes aren't worse than last year.

Something unusual happened in my head.

Posted 10.23.2008 at 10.33 AM by Quebeker
I drove all day Tuesday to get to my delivery for Wednesday morning.
I stopped and parked around midnight after driving 10 hours and being up for 16 or 17 hours.
After setting the brakes, I leaned back in the seat and dozed off for 15-20 minutes.
Up to that point, nothing unusual.

Then I woke up.
And I had this weird feeling.
I was scared.
Of going back to sleep.
And it was sincere and genuine fear, deep down to my bones.
In my head,...
