Hey Ya'll -

Rather than eat up the forums, I felt this was a much more appropriate means by which to fill you in on my day to day stuff.

Good Lord! Didnt realize how long it had been since I had been on here to post. So I'll bring you up to date.

I was at home from the 29th through the 3rd, spending some time with my folks who had come into town. Then I had to put Tater in the shop to see if I could get the turbo and the fuel tank crossover fixed. Finally got him back on Tuesday afternoon. Turbo fixed (hole in a hose), but fuel tank still giving me issues.

Got a load Thursday out of Greensboro going to Roanoke, VA. It was a really nice drive (being that I only had 560 pounds in the trailer) right up until the time I drove right into the path of a horrible storm which spawned a few tornados and downbursts. Needless to say, without any weight in the back, it was one heck of a ride. I had heard of the warnings and actually saw some rotation in the clouds to the west of me, and headed my way. Old Tater and I put it "in the wind" and got up the road. Needless to say, all is well and I delivered my load that afternoon.

Friday morning I loaded in Roanoke with two drops in Iowa on Monday (tomorrow). Had some bad directions which put me in some really tight roads trying to get out of there and back on track to the shipper. This is where the close quarters training I received by my trainer (Kurt). Not that it was specifically deemed as such, but he made sure I was well versed in the drill. Had I not learned that from him, I would have been in big trouble getting back on track.

So now I am sitting in Waterloo, IA, waiting for tomorrow's deliveries. As soon as I get done with them, I shoot back to Walcott and pickup a load to be delivered in Valley City, ND on Tuesday. With any luck, I'll get a Texas run from there.

Oh, by the way, if you haven't tried it yet, I will recommend "The Country Pride" hamburger at TA. It is a 1/3 lb burger topped with a fried egg, bacon, pickles, and cheese. I know you may think it is gross, but it is actually quite good. Two ARF's up!!

Ya'll take care and I'll be back soon. I am now on Verizon's Mobile Broadband, so I am not bound by certain truck stop wi-fi's.

Thumbs up on Verizon's broadband, I haven't had any problems with it at all. They say anywhere you have cell phone coverage, you have wireless.
