first my son in law just graduated from a school in j-vill and he like a lot of you out out there is looking for a job.
now he had a couple of interviews with companys that his trainer rfecomended and it seems that they require 10 yrs previous w2 forms before they would hire him, now i have long known that a tgrucking company can and will do what ever the can get away with if you let them but this is a new twist.
you do not have to give a copy of your w2 forms to anyone that is not public information it is between you and the irs period its nobodys buisness how much money you made and it is not a law or a dot regulation there just tryting to get you to do there work for them so they dont have to spend time verifying employment, you can do so but it is not law in fact it is illegal for them to require it , now im sure there is going to be somew that will say it is thAT IS ALWAYS THE CASE but if you think it is please let me no the statute # i could be wrong i spent three hours last ight researching dot regs it is not there .
so you do as you like, i dont think i would, to much information to give them.
2010
now ive also been doing some research on the new regs for 2010 and a lot of what ive been hearing is just plain trash , hear is a few.
there is no age requrement if your 50 yrs old or older your not going to lose your job that is pure nonsense.
now what ther in the process of doinf is what each state is already doing, keeping records except now its going to e in a national data base so any cop can pull your information up when he does a cdl check nothing new really it just gives them better access and every thing you do will be put in the data base now they do it on a state level the new system will have info from every state to be accesed at any time by law enforcement and limited information can be accesed by companys that may hire you no big thing and nothing to worry about .
now some may lose there job there going to classifie drivers AND companys so if your driving up and down the highway and you think your big ands bad and you can do as you please by breaking the speed limit, not taking care of the log book, wreckless driving , well you might not be out here much longer and i think its already in affect.
in other word your going to have to act like a pro not a juvinile. in other words nobody is going to lose ther jobs without asking for it .
the physical is going to be a little tighter if your to heavy you might have to lose some weight looks like there going to be a little tight on the weight issue, as i understand it if you take meds you have to register them at the time of your physical.
other then what ive mentioned no big deal except the trucking company are going to be in for a surprise they go into the same data base and if they dont comply they can be shut down, i think i like that part.
nothing to worry about for any pro driver. and for the young man that says drivers over 50 are going to be out of work, well you might get your own house in order it could be you. i sure as hell aint planning on quitting ands im older then dirt.
all have a great day and remember this one thing in spite of they way things are and all the many problems this businees has you will never lose till you quite.
