Well, okay back when I was a little girl of 7 or 8 I went through a period when I hit Ken Lloyd on the head with my spelling book every morning at the start of school. I'm about to head to bed and tomorrow we go on the road for my OTR training. It's been over a year since Grandad and I discussed this change for our lives and now here it is finally. Texas-Nana has a CDL! Posted 04.07.2009 at 06.18 PM by Texas-Nana Today I tested and passed on the first try! I'm incredibly excited and very proud of myself. I go to orientation tomorrow & friday then on the truck with Grandad as soon as his DM gets him back to Phoenix. YAY ME! I couldn't have done this without the instructors at Swift, the other students who helped me (we all help each other), my family who are incredibly supportive..................and all my friends here who have given me SO MUCH encouragement.... Nana is frustrated. Posted 04.06.2009 at 07.49 PM by Texas-Nana Due to a shortage of Examiners, my testing has been postponed to Tuesday. I've already been waiting 2 days. I'm a tad frustrated. It's not really Swift's fault. I was to be tested, was called up and even got in the truck. Then the examiner opened my sealed envelope from the AZ MVD and discovered the clerk hadn't put my grades on it. April 1st --- no foolin'! Posted 04.01.2009 at 10.10 PM by Texas-Nana It's day three of my "road" training and every day I love it more. Things are going good and according to my instructor I'm doing extremely well. He's more forgiving of my mistakes than I am. I know this will sound stupid to many but perhaps there will be some sentimental fool out there that "gets" what I mean: it makes my heart sing when I get to drive.
