How time Flies By

Posted 04.15.2009 at 02.22 PM by Wildkat
I didn't realize how far behind I am on keeping this up to date.

Since I have gotten myself a regular run to Whitehorse roughly a year ago, I seem to have so little time for writing & since there's only ONE road from Edmonton to Whitehorse...well it tends to be same old, same old sometimes.

I never get bored with it. I love the wild isolation of the far north, the lack of traffic, the peace & beauty.

A few pictures from my travels in the last year......

Anyway, I get to Hay River on Saturday afternoon only to discover they are chip-sealing the highway...for those who don't know what that is...they dump...

Just back from Fort Nelson, BC. 1362 miles in 2 days...normal 2 day run. Just bloody HOT! 38C in Nelson yesterday, too hot to sleep...never could sleep with the truck running, so pull over for a nap long enough to get me someplace dark & hopefully a bit cooler. Still not much dark up there, light till midnight still, sun up at 4 am. But, made it back to Grande Prairie & it cooled off to a reasonable 16C, nice for sleeping, into the chain-up area on the Big Smoky for a few hours and then...

First Blog Entry

Posted 08.03.2008 at 06.19 PM by Wildkat
Ok here goes, finally decided it was time to make one of these blog things...

I've never been good at talking about myself, but am always happy to answer questions and give back to an industry that I have been in for over 30 years now.

I'm an owner/operator, leased on to a mid-sized (for Canada) LTL carrier. I am based out of Edmonton, Alberta & run strictly North, I spend the majority of my time in the Northwest Territories & the Yukon Territory.
