Dumbing Down Of America - One Symptom

So I get up this am and I was AMAZED to turn on the news and NOT see that stupid crap, American idol...but, this time they were talking about women putting bird crap on their faces for a facial! HELLO!!! This world is, literally, falling to pieces and it never fails that the "news" has nothing but stupid crap on it anymore. So, I ask people if they know what is going on in the world and if they know about such and such...hell no, but they DO know about Britney Spears' cooter shot, sports, American idol, their beloved SUV and other such moronic, superficial idiocy. Sad! No wonder politicians can get away with so much these days!
Colleges: Colleges are nothing more than a dumbing down of the human mind these days and an indoctrination into the ways of a screwed up world. I have met countless people that have come out of college that have NO clue about anything EXCEPT knowing how to drink, "thinking" they are "special" because they put rings all over their bodies and color their hair purple. WTF? I see college grads come out so damned dumb it is unfathomable to think they had even been to a "supposed" higher education facility! WOW. Now, tell me how this can be good on a society? Anyone of you reading this, who has a MIND to think with, will know what I mean. IF you are a college educated, indoctrinate imbecile you probably will take offense. GREAT! I hope you DO and I hope you THINK for once. Turn off idol and learn about your world. HOW? This internet has more information at your fingertips than EVER has been possible in known history...figure it out. Just because you went to college does NOT mean you are smart. Colleges scare me anymore, they truly do.
Society: America is now FULL of hatefulness, greed, selfishness, those without natural affections, devoid of true love, lovers of self, and so much more. WHY is this? Because this society has been indoctrinated into this! SUVs, good looks, and million dollar houses are now the judge of a man instead of his/her heart. People act like animals anymore...they just want to eat, screw, pump out pathetic kids (only for their own selfishness...awww my own doll!).
Generational Distress: I have a little brother who is 19 (we are 16 years apart) and we had a talk last night. He was pretty pissed off at the world, LOL. He asked me WHY is this world so f-ed up? I said heck, I have been trying to tell you this for so many years and you are finally realizing it? He hates this world and the way people are and I do not blame him. Think!!! This is our next generation and, trust me, it is ALL f-ed up to be sure. It is a symptom of society in general.
So, people, watch your American idol, take a peek at Spears' cooter, spread bird crap on your face, buy you that new SUV (after all, you DESERVE it!), be BETTER than your neighbor (after all, you DESERVE it, he/she doesn't)...and AFTER all of this you are miserable pricks. NOTHING (although you have it all) makes you happy, America...why? You are dumbed down, period. You, seemingly, cannot think for yourself anymore.

 |  Wow...powerful and well said. I bought my daughter a t-shirt.......more to pee off the hospital workers than anything....it says "THINK........it's not illegal". Ya know I'd give anything to finish college but honestly think my degree from the school of hard knocks is worth more. |

| |  Love your post here! So true. That's the scary part. I am only partially college educated - just can't seem to want to finish it off. The disgusting thing is that with the work experiences I have had, I am just a qualified for some of these jobs as the whiner with the Associates Degree or Bachelor's Degree. One of my gripes is the elementary school and high school education (I have three sons - 13, almost 17, and 20). I am homeschooling my 13 year old for now because of the public school system where we currently live. The teachers spend more time worrying about not hurting little Johnny's feelings than teaching these days. Another thing that I have noticed is that instead of a kid being energetic and rambunctious, they are now ADHD - huh? Lets all medicate our kids so that they can't think for themselves. My last point is the lack of discipline and personal responsibility. I have seen so many kids misbehave, and the parents have no control of them at all. I've heard about kids age 4 getting kicked off planes because they will not sit down. My boys went on their first trip by plane at the age of 4, 7, and 10, and had no difficulty sitting in their seats and behaving, and I don't spank. Between lack of discipline, lack of personal responsibility, and the "I'm entitled" attitude, this country has some serious issues! |
