They were purchased by Celadon last year; I hear rumors Celadon is going to move the offices and main yard in Hoss facilities across from FlyingJ @ exit 268/hwy401

Mcconnells Transport in Jacksonville New Brunswick runs unsafe equipment. Their shop manager Chris O'Donnell Is a joke. He should mabye work at Mc Donalds. I was driving their truck and had severe brake troubles. I took the truck to a repair shop in Ontario. The mechanic there said my brakes where completely shot. The mechanic took pictures and gave me his personal cell number to cover my butt as Chris O'Donnell was trying to blame me for the mechanical problems. The thing that bothers me the most is that McConnells just put a brand new anual inspection sticker on my truck! This idiot Chris O'Donnell tried to pass tis off on me but I have been driving for 20 years. What worries me is, how many new drivers is he pulling the wool over their eyes and how many unsafe trucks does McConnells have on the road? This company should be shut dwn for saftey reasons. New drivers beware...you are putting your career on the line driving for this company...look elsewhere for your own sake!

Knuckleburn. Unless the DOT reads these posts, why don't you just call them and tell them about the condition of the equipment?

If there was an immediate safety issue that the company refused to repair after the truck was examined by a mechanic then the truck should be taken to the nearest Ontario Ministry of Transportation scale where the situation can be explained to inspectors. If the inspectors know what they are doing, they will not fine the driver and they will hold the truck at the scale until repairs are made. In that situation it is customary to report the inspection as "random' so the employer does not know the driver turned in the truck. If the situation is so dire the truck should not be moved then an MoT mobile inspector should be summoned so he can condemn the truck where it sits. Failing that, have the commercial shop mechanic write an "Unfit for Service" report so the truck cannot be moved.

I guess I wonder why a driver of 20 years takes a truck out of the yard if the "brakes where completely shot."

The Imputis behind my post was to worn new drivers about this company. The truck was put off the road immeadiatly( Nice of some of you to assume it wasn't) My wife also works for public saftey which is the head department of the dot in my province. They will not be doing any more inspections. As far as me being a driver of 20 years and taking the truck out f the yard with bad brakes..."not for hire" Bite me. Measuring brake drums is not part of any pre trip I am aware of!!! I guess you have too much time on your hands if you pull the wheels off every day and check such things. It was nice of you to assume that nothing was done about this truck. Nothing like assuming that nothing was done. I was merely warning others to stay away from this company!
