not sure if i can be any help but i would say H&R would be Ok.,when i
started in trucking 34yrs. ago it was quite different than today.i have
never heard of a contract except if you went through a companies very
own driving school where you a obligated to stay and work after graduating
for a set period of time.I believe most large companies have a policy of 2yrs.
experience needed so i think you will be looking at smaller companies for the
first 2yrs.,but if companies such as H&R take you on just after graduating then
you are doing good.I don't know your age but you will have to be 21yrs.old to
get across the border as a commercial driver...all the best!.

In your neck of the woods there is a lot of grain hauling. Maybe explore that route for experience.

Talk to Active Transport out of Milton. They do oversize. Also J&F in Ajax. I haven't worked for either, but they have good reputations.

If he has a pulse they will take him on if that's any clue as to what kind of company they are .... But beginners can't always be choosers sometimes least not at first
