Anyways...i tought it would be a good idea to have a Canadian version of the "good and bad companies", since many of them are not on the US trucking forum list...
This would be a good place to discuss the Bison, BLM, Challenger, Erb, Trans X, Highland, Arnold Bros, Mac Kinnon,Traffix, and others, that i haven't tought about...i see there are many Ontario based members here so feel free to chyme in with your opinions...

Manitoulin, poor guys have a slower truck than mine, 90kph, the drivers with them I've tried to talk to seem either to not have radios, or won't answer.

Armour, out of NB. Drivers I've talked to seemed happy

Keltic, NB as well, did have a setup in On. last I knew. Guys I've talked to have been happy as well.

CAT, out of PQ, same there, they do take newbies. All of their drivers seemed happy and friendly. One guy even welcomed me to On. After talking a bit with him, it turned out I'd spent more time driving in Ca. than he. Oh well, the thought was there.LOL:biggrin_2559:

Not trying to hijack, but really, what happened to Eldorado? Glad to see them off the road for sure, some of the poorest drivers I've ever seen.

I was at their mississagua terminal once and their forklift drivers are either absolutelly insane, or they get paid by a load....i never seen anyone drive so fast and wreckless....
They would be still sliding backwards (fast) when their tires were already spinning full speed forward, then they would literally crash their forks into the skid and push it for few feet before it would even lift from the ground and just literally throw it ont a truck.
It got to the point where i got scared for my safety and had to leave the warehouse...
Thats why i find their 90 km per hour truck so puzzling....but i'm pretty sure their guys must be making some sort of embarrasment bonus for being seen driving their equipment:biggrin_255: so maybe they make pretty good coin?

LOL, my buddy drives for them out of the sudbury terminal. He likes his run but has only driven for them so has nothing to compare them with. When I did my driving course I called laughing at him as I was able to drive on the highway faster than he could.

He runs from Sudbury out west. Once out of Ontario he gets a second trailer.

Couple weeks ago tho he called to say he lost his bonus or some of it because of a tire blow out which destroyed a mud flap. LOL

I wonder if the guys on the dock drive like that because they're exOTR, and thats the only place they can go fast. Much like me in a truckstop. NOT:biggrin_2559:

Soooo, it sounds like Manitoulin might not be a good one, eh?:biggrin_25525: Lost part of his bonus because of a lost mudflap? Whoa nellie!!

Come on guys, there are many co's out there not mentioned.
I've got another, but really don't know much about.

Earl Paddock, nice looking trucks, and haul a lot of VERY expensive loads. I've talked to a couple of the drivers, and again, they seemed happy, and if I remember right, made some good money.

One thing I've noticed about most of the Ca. drivers. Most have good attitudes, friendly, and not afraid to help you out. Why is that? Ya, I hear whining around the big cities like Toronto and Montreal, but really, no where near as bad as around Detroit as an example.:biggrin_25526:
