Here is the info on the accident.

    OPP investigate cruiser crash

FORT ERIE A 53-year-old Binbrook man is facing several charges after an OPP cruiser collided with a transport truck in Fort Erie.
According to police, the crash happened around 10:30 p.m. Wednesday as the cruiser was heading east on the QEW through a construction zone near Gilmore Road.
Police say the cruiser was attempting to pass a transport in the left lane when the truck veered over into the same lane.
The transport’s trailer struck the passenger side of the cruiser and it was pushed into a ditch in the middle of the highway, where it struck a sign.
Police say the truck kept driving for two kilometres before another officer managed to pull it over.
The officer wasn’t injured in the crash, but the cruiser sustained minor damage, police said.
The transport’s driver has been charged with fail to remain, fail to report accident and careless driving.

I would love to have seen the cops mood when he got up to the drivers door.

What I notice 90% of the time is the slower trucks tend to fly thru truckstops, workzones etc
Other day I saw one fedex tailgating a school bus I talked quiet a bit of #$#$ to him on the radio for that That to me is the biggest no no on the road.

Now, the cop wasn't hurt, (Probably scared the bejesus out of him!); but the cruiser is a write off. My main question is, "Why was the driver going so fast through the construction zone?"
I see this all the time, in the U.S. and Canada. Why are we speeding? Is that load so important that we can't slow down to 55mph or 80 kph for a few minutes just to make sure that we get through zones safely?
Just thought I'd throw that out. Let's make an effort to slow down and be safe through those construction zones.

Cop shouldn't be passing in a construction zone. Nobody should. things happen like workers stumbling over the pylons. ill bounce the car beside me for being dumb enough to be idling by then lose my truck to a wrecker. I can't afford to sit for weeks on end for a repair. Half the time the opp patrol cars are not even manned.
