Thx for all the replies guys, i have read about half of the posts so far, made an ideea about what is going on. So as it looks right now, lower crude oil prices combined with a not very healthy canadian dollar are having a negative impact on the oilfield trucking bussines, hopefully things will look brighter starting with the second quarter of the next year... so then will wait a bit...Until then safe driving everyone and if you Alberta guys have some more news pls share...

Hey Everyone,
First off, thank you all for contributing to the treasure trove of information that is this forum post. Ill be digging through most of the 422 pages on my night off but so far I've found it hard to find some information and if you guys could help me out it would be much appreciated. I've been wanting to go trucking out in Alberta for some time now, I've been looking up all the certifications and training needed but when I went to get my abstract done today it brought to light an incident I had totally forgotten about. Two years ago I got a ticket for Failure to have an insurance card and this will stay on there for another year. How strict are employers about clean abstracts? Do you think companies would give a beginner like me a chance with a small infraction on my abstract? -
minor.
They're looking for accidents, dui, and speedingZaphiod Thanks this. -
Normally 6 demerit points is the limit, newbies probably won't be accepted with any points ?
Some companies are now asking for a Nat Safe Code abstract that shows any code violations as well.Zaphiod Thanks this. -
Thanks guys, currently I don't have any demerit points on my license but I am a little paranoid that companies won't give me a second look without a perfect abstract. I will be pretty green with no driving experience other than in a car.

I don't think that would be a huge deal. I work with guys who have much worse abstracts lol

Is anyone interested in investing some money. I got an idea at work today "Superstars of the oil patch" a new documentary. You see I meet so many horrible fcukin drivers that its a comedy. I was thinking I could follow the highway thru hell camera crew around and interview the tits that Jamie Davis is uprighting and tugging out of the ditch, what better way to get an in depth look at what is crowding our highways today. We may have to get translators for the EI drivers and maybe the Newfies depending on how thick their Newfanese is. I think it would be a hit. Anyone in? Other ideas?

Lmao^ well there's a fb page where you can get lots of interview subjects from lol
not4hire Thanks this. -
