:biggrin_2551:i met the owner yrs ago and noticed that his equipment was fairly old but he tried to maintain it.i'd look at the equipment and how long the drivers have been with him before rejecting or accepting his offer.

About 10 years ago when I lived in Niagara I worked part time for them. I have no memory of bad experiences, which one generally doesn't forget. Drove into Toronto and east of there, local, New York.....they did have a busy shop there so I would hazard they take care of the equipment.

I know this is an old thread but, I have a friend who works there. Ok place to get experience but don't expect wages to change much. It's $24.50 for experienced local drivers and there are people that have been there much longer then him making the same. Very low. They are asking for 2 year drivers at that wage. New drivers make $100.00 a day for 4 weeks in training then only $22.00/hr. You pay for your own benefits, no uniform or boot allowances, no incentives at all or bonuses for doing a good job. 60 hour weeks, only one weekend off a month so basically no work home balance at all. It's fine to get experience but I would assume most people leave after they get it. Now I know another friend who just got a DZ job in Stoney Creek making over $30.00 an hour doing roll off, unionized only 5 days a week, paid training in Florida, bonuses, boot allowances etc... they also aren't asking for any experience. Just keep your eyes open.

Sounds like your friend works for WM being its roll off and training is done in florida. $24.50 is unfortunately average local driver rates for tractor trailers . Mean while a DZ driver gets $30 plus doesn’t make sense. Big reason i’m serious thing of applying to WM and miller waste over $30 a hr and off most weekends
