i dont hear good things about day and ross.
-
i worked for fastrax in wpg in 2006, would not recomend them to anybody, alot of favoritism there.
-
Thanks! Anybody know anything about Caldwell?
-
Caldwell Heavy Haul and Fastrax specialized are both good outfits. As far as the general freight on either company, I cant comment.
Elroythekid Thanks this. -
I can comment on both companys, Caldwell is going through a bunch of name changes, want to loose your shirt good spot. day and ross, you will make a living, go hard and not stop. the work is their if you want to work. electronic log so if you have the old ways burnt in you will have problems. out of hours no questions or pressure. you are asked when available again not demanded you go. its all what you make it. im an owner op their one truck. truck looks after itself and my wages. trying to feed a family kids through school etc its like every where else ya wont make it.

On what facts do you base the comment that you will lose your shirt with caldwell? i work there and have far too many shirts in my closet....As for a "bunch of name changes" it has changed ONCE, in august, when the current owner bought the company.
We can all string a few words together, i prefer mine to come out as factual -
Well Andy I'm glad that you have some shirts. Ask the people about their wardrobe who get their statement of unpaid accounts. From that name change. Certain people at.Caldwell favour certain trucks. That's the way it was and probably still is good for you that you work for a dynamic progressive organization. I worked their for a number of yrs

i have worked for a few companies and i have found that they all have there "favourites" (GTL being the worst) but with them all i have also found that when you go to them and say look, i don't mind doing the #### runs but give me a fair crack at the good ones as well, then you find that you are treated better and get better runs overall. It's like everything in life, you go in with a good attitude and you get further than if you went in shouting and screaming..
I have heard of some stories concerning the OLD Caldwell but even then it was from a couple of disgruntled drivers (you can't please everyone, some people are only happy when they are ########) but The new owner (in October 2013) is a good guy that has already made a few changes for the better, including a generous pay increase.
BTW, have you ever had a better dispatcher than Kevin?
