I do not think that Arnold Bros. hires new drivers. They have there own shool. But then again, it is always worth a try.
AgriTel is a very good comp. Looks like they are a bit slow right now, but that should pick up in a month or 2.

Arnold Bros does have some sort of program for new drivers. Agritel is actually out of Beausejour. Small family owned. Nice trucks. One of my friends applied there last year and he was concerned about their no idle policy. The trucks do not have APU's and if you go to Texas that could be brutal.

yes sorry i meant Beausejour. arnold bros does have a school/ program i have been talking with both companies. they both pick up loads frequently at my work, haven't really ran into any bad drivers with either of them, they all seem pretty happy. was just wondering if there was any thing else i should be aware of before signing the dotted line..

i wasn't aware agritel had no APU's Texas is where their hauling our product to...ouch that must suck about now!

Arnold Bros has a great school. If you want to be in the MPI mentoring program then you have to sign on before picking a school. I thought you had your Class 1 already? Keep in mind that most of the mentoring programs are almost slavery. For instance: Bison requires that you work with a trainer for 13 weeks. First you do city work. Great idea for good backing experience. Then you do a week or 2 of short runs to places like Fargo. After that you are on all kinds of runs. The kicker is they pay you $500 per week for 13 weeks. About 70 hours a week. That is just over $7.00 an hour! For the next 6 months I think you get under 25 cents a mile. Goes up every 6 months. If you leave before the full 2 YEARS you must repay them a portion fo the training. I am quite sure this all illegal! I guess you have to decide if you are willing to give up almost 2 years of your life. The training is the best and after that you can walk in anywhere and get a job. I understand that most do not complete the 2 years!

I do not qualify for the MPI program i make to much and been to school before already. The experience was gained on the job and wasn't enough. I was hired to be an equipment operator, i spread the gravel not haul it :p there for i feel my skills are not up to par that would be required for OTR. ive talked with many companies almost all of them recommended Arnold bros training school. bison is actually is the only one that did not!

ive heard of a few people not making the program all the way to the end, but much with operating construction equipment you need the experience but how do you get it? a cut wage for a period of time as long as the training is excellent i feel is worth it. hell im young yet any ways!

truck driving is something ive wanted to do since i was knee high, a little taste of it was enough to get hooked! just weighing the options and trying to make the best moves possible into this position.

Cousin worked for AB. Quit. Heard that their training school was good, though. Some drivers leaving the western runs-guy heading the western division apparently a major headache. Wacko was one description my neighbour's husband used. Drivers often dispatched on runs that would take you over log book hours by the time load unloaded and vetted by store, and then drivers written up by safety dept. for the dilemma the company knowingly created. Also, appears to be no more preventive maintenance on trailers on western run, so a problem that can't be seen on a thorough pre-trip could exist and put you in the weeds or morgue. Makes you wonder if corners being cut on maintenance of trucks. Regardless, cousin and his chum say training school is good, even if they aren't with AB anymore. Would probably still be with AB if they could have been sure of equipment safety and not had to deal with "Wacko." Good luck in your search.

Sounds like cliochannel has a personal problem with AB. I know a few people there and they are all happy.

Agri Tel has APU's on their older Trucks (3 to 5 years old). If it gets to hot, they will put you in a Hotel. You do not want to idle to much, because you get a fuel bonus.

i heard about their fuel bonus, i loaded one of their drivers, he was saying he was on his 3rd truck with them it was bran new was going to be his 4th run with it, wasn't getting the same mileage he could with his last one, said he made something crazy like 20k on fuel bonus! :O

i wounder what the reason for no apu is? they mostly run Cali, Texas and Georgia.
