Hey everyone,
I currently work for a junk removal company in Ontario. Trying to find the time to obtain my DZ license so I can get my foot in the bigger trucks.
To obtain my Dlicense I understand that I need to complete a medical. How much will this cost? What will they check?
Any other advice and tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I've had it done in AB and BC. Both place they check your eye sight, blood pressure, ask you if you have any history of seizures/substance, fill out your paper and charge you $150. In BC when you provide the paper to ICBC they charge you $30 to process it.

You have to go in to the licencing office and request a mto medical paperwork. Bring that to your family doctor if ya got one or check with local clinics as they will often do them too. When you get the paperwork you can see everything they will check. I forget what exactly is done, which means mines coming due soon.

Go straight for AZ. It is the same test only you bring a trailer. There is no need to get DZ then later upgrade to AZ.

In Alberta, yu don't need to run anywhere for the form. Doctors office accesses that on the computer.

In Ontario you have to go to the MTO to get the form. You can even let them scan your licence and the pre-print all your info directly on the medical form.
I also agree that you should skip the D licence and go straight for an A. You will open up more opportunities.
My medical in Cambridge years back cost$ 100 while the last one in Ottawa over the summer cost me $150. You need to do one every 5 years, even earlier if you're older or had medical problems.
They will check blood pressure, vision, hearing, mobility (touch your toes with the tips of your fingers), reflexes, diseases and conditions you may have or had (verbally asking) and the dreaded couch twice to check for a hernia. Though not all do the last one but my family doctor did. I'm not 40 yet so I never checked my prostate. Your family doctor will do a complete exam even if the MTO doesn't require it. -
They are fairly thorough. Check you for Coughs, Colds, Sore Holes and other minor ailments. lol
