what are the legal weights one can have for axles?

the tractor has 12,000 fronts, and 40,000 rears. Can ya have that much, or is it less?

The trailer is 20,000 axles, ( tridem) what can we legally run on each axle?

    Thanks

I'll give you the basic weights BUT it's up to you to make sure you conform to bridge law

    Steer is 12,000
    Drives are 39,600
Tridem (depending upon the spread) is 51,000

9000kg for single axle with singles tires(steer)
single with dual tires 10000 kg
    tandem 18000 kg = 39900 lbs or with spread - 19100 kg
tridem 21300 - 26000 kg (depends of spread)

and see cabcard for maximum gross
see trucks specs for axels and tires

drives tires usually can carry 6175*2 = 12350, so this your limit.

dont forget, to carry 40000 on tadems most tires need 120 psi pressure

make sure to check the front axle limit, 12,000, 18,000 ect. the steer tires on that axle also have to be rated for the weight.
Can't have a 20,000lb steer axle with regular 12,000lb tires and expect to carry 20,000.

You driving a car hauler ? No, I guess not by the wording of the original post. I only ask because some provinces differ with lengths and weights depending on if your are a stinger or not.

I don't think so, he said tridem trailer. And I doubt its an old old ryder trailer. Didn't they have 3 axles with single tires, and a very low drive thru into the belly?
