Thanks for the tips. I found their website and contact information. Left a message on the answering machine. I live an hour and a half from Edmonton, so if they don't call me back, maybe I will just go down and walk in like you suggested. I usually do better in face to face interviews than I do over the phone. The camp looks way better than most oil patch camps and the job wouldn't be nearly as boring as some other oil patch jobs I have had because I'd get to travel around.

I just had a game changer! Diversified got back to me and said it was not their job posting! They said they have drivers in Fort Mac, but they live in town, not in Surmont. I sent a couple of emails to the job poster on kijiji in the last couple of days, but I haven't heard anything. I'm glad diversified got back to me, because I was going to take my class 2 knowledge test today. I looked around for full time oil patch class 2 jobs and there aren't very many of them. They also don't have any opportunity for overtime. There are;however, a LOT of jobs for class 1 drivers.

So, tomorrow I will take my class 1 knowledge test and my air brake knowledge test, and go for my driver's medical appointment. I wouldn't mind going Canada - USA or across Canada. I don't mind being away from home for extended periods of time. I am used to working a lot of hours.

Does anyone know any companies in Alberta oil patch or hauling companies that would train me in house from that point?

I would think Diversified would certainly know whose buses are working that job.

Yes, Pinner, I think they knew. I think a lot of employees think that if they utter a competitor's name out loud they will get struck by a raging bolt of lightning!

Thanks nate980, I think I have narrowed it down to oil patch hauling, real world hauling, or frac companies. I have to decide if I want to be a loner worker or a member of a big group.

Couple of guesses: URS Flint or First Canada.
