In simple terms...follow your tandems they'll never lead you wrong. I'm looking for the artical so I can attach a link to the post. There's some really helpful information in that with pictures and explinations. I can't for the life of me find it right now though.

    ABSOLUTELY !

Q1: what help did you provide ?
Q2: what is your issue with my information (or is it just a cheap shot)?

he already said he gets out and looks; you can look till the cows come home, but looking ain t going to put your unit in the dock- the job still has to be done

True enough ... but if you're unsure, continuous 'getting out and checking' helps and prevents unsure operators from backing into MY trailer ....... Getting into the dock without damage to you, your neighbor, and your load, is supposed to be the name of the game ! It's great to deliver a $5,000 load, but if you cause $10,000 in damage getting it 'to the dock' ...... what's the point ??

Use every bit of real estate ( property ). Use drivers side backing every chance possible. No real estate, blind side and use GOAL, No embarrassment. Another driver offers to help use the additional tool. No help: GOAL. take 50 times who cares. Receiver and everyone else can wait. no hurry backing. Hit your target without damage is #1 priority.

Relax and drive the truck. Don't over think it. Follow the advice here. Get out as often as you need to and look. You can do that.

All my trucks had remote controlled mirrors. The last 25 we bought in the last year all have remote mirrors also.

I sold out a few years ago but I consult for TRUCKING COMPANY. (I've retired 6 times) :) A set of Moto Mirrors can be had for $300.00 and most trucks are prewired to accommodate them

Right now we run about 60-65 trucks.

Go into your yard on a day off and practise, that's what I did. We get our new guys to do it for backing up trains. You only get good, by doing it a LOT and challenging yourself. If you every have to back down a windy, snowy road at night, you'll be glad you did. Trust me.
