Yes, I imported a 2004 Freightliner in 2007. It isn't difficult, no broker required. Just follow the instructions on the riv.ca website... precisely. Get the recall letter from the manufacturer, there should be no cost. Have the original title with you, but have a copy faxed to the U.S. port you're exiting at least 72 hours in advance so they can ensure it isn't a stolen vehicle. In fact, call both the U.S. and Canadian ports and talk directly to an officer regarding any questions, they were very helpful. They'll also let you know whether they follow all the various rules exactly, or whether they have unique procedures at their port... like accepting payment via credit card when the Canadian government website said no. Get the daytime running lights hooked up and kilometres added to the speedo if necessary and then call Canadian Tire and have some pimply-faced 16-year-old that hasn't got a clue what he's looking at sign off on your paperwork... he probably won't even notice the daytime running lights aren't hooked up permanently. And voila, you're ready for provincial inspection / licensing and you're done!
