They put themselves in that situation by undercutting everyone over the years pushing alot if people out of the container game. I don't feel sorry for them at all since it was there own fault. They way they've been behaving also is pathetic. Stopping trucks crossing the pocket lines, jumping on them, threatening people, disconnecting air lines. Here's my buddy going into the port. I just wish it had sound.

This strike is like a toilet that the (foreign) owners of the Vancouver port facilities can flush whenever they feel like it. It's a microcosm of trucking in Canada.

    1. Complete deregulation and subsequent anarchy.
    2. Drivers eventually figure out they are not making money.
    3. Drivers get mad and act up.
    4. Flush toilet.
    5. Repeat every few years.

Recipe for continuing this pathetic performance art ad nauseam:

    1. Endless supply of clueless recent immigrants who are easily duped.
    2. Endless supply of Temporary Foreign Worker drivers to use and abuse as indentured servants/slaves with no rights.
    3. Truck drivers who do not understand that a "Drivers Association" is not a recognized bargaining unit under Canadian law.

The main self-flagellators in the repeating Vancouver sea container drama are Men of Surrey (aka Misogynist Men of Punjab) but that does not mean whites in trucking are much less clueless. Note, for instance, that many non-Punjabi clueless men in trucking have willingly joined a ridiculous union-busting Christian association as a condition of their employment. How low can trucking go? Much lower if you ask me. Truck drivers would join the Nazi Party to get a trucking job. Due to lawlessness in trucking, wages can go much lower than minimum-wage. We are nowhere near the bottom yet.

Number of sea containers flipped-over per day in Vancouver traffic:

I don't know. I've lost count. Flipped-over container trucks in Vancouver are as common as raindrops.

Exactly...and that's what is going to happen to these guys. The next group of recent immigrants to take their jobs? Philipinos?Mexicans?Guatemalans?I've read that the big carriers are recruiting heavily in Jamaica. We'll be right back here in 5 years when the new immigrant group realizes they got duped too.

I don't know if the next wave of immigrant truck drivers in Vancouver will be of different national extraction than the present ones. Most of the Vancouver truck drivers are Family Class migrants from Punjab. At present levels of migration there is a 500 year supply of Punjabi Family Class migrants to fill the desperate needs of the horrible Truck Driver Shortage. Amazingly, The Truck Driver Shortage in Vancouver will cause wages to fall even further. What's even more amazing is that Punjabi recent immigrants who own trucking companies in Vancouver are bringing Punjabi Temporary Foreign Workers to Vancouver to drive their trucks.

There are a few Jamaican Temporary Foreign Worker truck drivers in Alberta. The ones I have met are actually real truck drivers who know what they doing. Temporary Foreign Worker truck drivers from western European countries with trucking standards (like Germany) and Britain have wised-up to the fact they are going to be ripped-off in Alberta and they are staying away. Eastern European "truck drivers" (aka, careless speeding louts with balls the size of cantaloupes) are so bad they have fallen out of favour with even the worst Alberta trucking companies. The latest wave of truck drivers to replace Canadian truck drivers in Alberta are coming from Mexico and the Philippines.

Trucking company owners love Filipino Temporary Foreign Worker truck drivers. The Filipino truck drivers always smile, they do whatever they are told and they can be treated as well as Filipina nannie-slaves/domestic chattels. They are perfect employees. You can even use them for live organ harvesting! Bravo Canada!

    Live organ harvesting!!:sign5:

I know exactly what you mean about the Filipinos. Worked at a local factory that invested heavily in Filipino machinists. They did what they were told, always smiled and were happy to make less money. If they weren't told what to do...they didn't do it. No initiative. The best thing about them was they always knew another who wanted to be told what to do for less.

I should probably not have been so flippant about the organ harvesting. It is a real issue in the Philippines! I was driving along listening to the CBC (on Sirius 169!) and there was a show about the poor Filipinos selling their organs to rich Canadians for $1000 so they could buy a washer and dryer. Overpopulation has its disadvantages! Really I think that all the abuse the Filipinos are absorbing while smiling and thanking the grace of God for allowing them to sell their organs is eventually going to explode in an orgy of pent-up anger. Overseas Filipino nannies will be the first to lose it. They will burst into a murderous rampage, killing their Canadian (and Chinese) slave-masters with available implements, cutting up their body parts and stuffing those parts into the freezer in the basement (in Zip-Lock bags). Then they will make a soup out of those body parts and serve that soup to Minister of Employment and Social Development and Minister for Multiculturalism Jason Kenney, while laughing uncontrollably!

    Latest news from containerland:

The Province is drafting a back-to-work order for the unionized container haulers. The Vancouver Port Authority is threatening to withdraw the port permits of all the non-union ("Association") container haulers. Most of the hapless haulers are non-union. The Port Authority must be assuming that the non-union drivers will be replaced by some other gullible bunch of misinformed poverty cases from somewhere. Those zany upper-class executives who run the port don't seem to know what it's like to live in Vancouver (or Surrey) on low wages.

Dubai-based DP World is a Vancouver container port operator. The CEO of DP World is His Excellency Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem. DP World does not disclose the salary of His Excellency but I bet he does ok! He is a Sultan after all. He is the Sultan of Surrey Container Truck Drivers.

We must get those containers of crappy Chinese manufactured goods moving from the Port of Vancouver so they can destroy Canadian jobs in manufacturing!
