I drive long haul U.S. and Canada. I'm a company driver and was told by my boss after I questioned him about vac. and stat holiday pay , he told me that it is all rolled into the .42 per mile. I believe this is illegal. I did not sign a contract.

Illegal? I doubt it. A suck company you should get away from? That's a BIG 10-4

I don't know if you're American or Canadian, but in the US there is no law that says you are owed holiday pay or a paid vacation. That being said, I wouldn't work for a company that didn't offer it as a perq.

I get paid $100 bucks per stat holiday I think. Not much but better then nothing. I don't think it's illegal up here in Canada to not pay if you're OTR but I wouldnt work for a company that didnt give me something..
jfball Thanks this. -
Any company that doesn't pay any holidays is company to not work for !!
-
So what companies offer paid holidays? None of the companies I have worked for have.
-
You must work for a little company , or an O/O all companies pay at least Christmas , and 4 thJuly

I've worked for two companies that paid holipay. One had 4 trucks, the other 12. The big companies I have worked for, and still do, offer no such thing as holipay. But the one I currently work for will buy you a Thanksgiving Day meal if you're out. I don't about Christmas since I always take a couple of weeks off then.

I have talked to government agency here and he claims that I'm entitled to vacation and statutory pay. I guess I will have to log a complaint with them.
BigHossVolvo and starvintrucker Thank this.
