TORONTO Walmart Canada revealed its newest addition to its freight division, a supercube tractor-trailer that will carry 40 percent more cargo.
And despite having a length of 60 feet, the trailer remains exactly the same length as standard tractor-trailer set-ups pulling 53 footers.

That means just what it says: you've never seen one.
I passed one in his way into Toronto this afternoon.
So yes, they're legal, and yes gliders are already assembled, registered and rolling down the roads, even in Ontario. -

My company in BC has several Argosy gliders (my truck included) they brought up from Mexico. Freightliner in Surrey spec'd them for heavy haul w/ ISX600's, and from what I've observed, there wasn't too much grief endured when licensing them and whatnot.

If you have a dealer tell you they cannot be ordered it is because that specific dealership doesn't want to. Kenworth in llyodminster, ab doesn't order them because they say it's a grey area and the owner says he doesnt run a grey area business. (Can't argue with that)
Yet you can go down the street to the next dealer and they say let's get er done. -

Just be aware that gliders in Canada are much different than ones in the US. They use them down there to get a new truck without all the emissions crap like DEF and such. They only need to meet emissions standards for the year of the drivetrain. You could throw a two stroke detriot in one of those, no problem. Up here, the emissions standards are determined by the year of the chassis. So you would be required to install DEF and whatever after treatment systems are required for that year of truck.
