I just started running the US quite often and would like to get a US phone with the best coverage so I was thinking Verizon. I seen some old treads about the Canada plan but I don't think they still have it anymore. Did anyone recently signed up with Verizon? If so what plan did you guys take?
I run mainly the east coast from upstate New York down to Florida, is their a truck stop along the way that could help me setup an account with Verizon?

Try the walmart brand: straight talk. It's 45$ a month and contract free. And it runs on Verizon's network
-
Also when you're in walmart how can you tell which straight talk phone uses the verizon network since they use CDMA? I don't think it's written on the packaging? -
Others will say CDMA-S for sprint or GSM-A or GSM-T for att or t-mobile. -
Also saw LTE lately, not sure what carrier???
-
I don't know how about being stuck on CDMA without 4g... evdo isn't exactly a fast technology. -
Lte is Internet speed.

So does any Canadian driver use Verizon at all?
-
I do but I have a grandfathered plan that is no longer available. I pay about $175 us per month. Unlimited everything except minutes, I get I think 900 minutes for the month, plenty for me, unlimited data and hotspot while in the USA. For Canada data I have a Telus internet card that costs me from $10 up per month, depending how much I use it ... if I go over they just move me up into the next plan for that month, they do not gouge me ... I know the Verizon is expensive, but the service is excellent, I never pay roaming, anywhere, any country ... it is always the same amount, it is better than any of the previous Canadian phone companies could do ...
