When entering back into the land of the free we are required to pay a $12.75 freedom fee, however if you buy the transponder this fee is waved for the year. My company payed the fee, and I received the sticker in the mail, but I am wonder where the proper place to put it is. According to the paperwork sent by customs and border protection the stickers must be placed on the left side of the driver side windshield. However FCMSA regulations say all such stickers must be placed as close to the lower centerline as possible.
How have you guys dealt with the issue. I put it on the left side because CBP is more likely to give me an anal probing to make sure I am not hiding any communists in my buttock, but on the other hand they are less likely to actually know their own rules and what an actual transponder looks like. Wheres the FCMSA imho opinion is likely to take me to task for endangering the lives of the motoring public by knowingly and deliberately violating the United stated code for proper sticker placement.
These are the kinds of questions that occupy my mind. Sad really. Well I just was wondering if anyone else has given any thought to it
-thanks
Where do the stickers go.
