Hopefully I can get some answers here, I have looked around the Canadian immigrations website as much as I can to no avail.

I know (Or at least am pretty sure) that Alberta is looking to hire outside of the country and will even help with paperwork. But what about Manitoba?

(Long-story-short; My fiancee is Canadian & I'm from the states; we are thinking of either moving to Manitoba, or staying near her family in Alberta.)

It's going to be another year or so before I'm ready to move, but it never hurts to be prepared well in advance. That *is* part of our job you know? :biggrin_25525:

Anything anyone would like to offer aside from the original question is of course welcome too.

    Thank you!

It'll be interesting as to what happens in the oil sands in Alberta as the middle east doesn't cut production and the price per barrel continues to drop ... I wonder if this is the beginning of a bust ...

Every forward progression has a tendency to fail at some point, it's all a matter of time. What matters is being flexible enough to catch up with the newest thing so you aren't slowed down.

Unfortunately that didn't really answer my question... Welp, maybe I'll eventually stumble across what I'm looking for on the immigration site?

    Thanks.

If you have a CDL, then you might be eligible for the TFW program. Although some give the impression that TFW will hire anyone, truck driving does require some experience.

Here's a link to program information.

Awesome. I've been looking for that. Alberta's website has it easy to find. That's not even on manitoba's immigration page... Thank you!

im assuming that Manitoba would operate under a similar rule of "at least one year experience." I've a little ways to go, but come December 22 I'll be 3 months into that year. ...surely did fly by.

I personally haven't considered Sask, I know the fianceé isn't interested in the constant flatness for lots of reasons though.

And I know Ontario wouldn't work, most of the time knowing French is preferred. (Could have you guys mixed up, I just woke up.)

Ah.... so what you want to do is move to Quebec maudit. French is very preferred there.
