Look for TTSAO certification. Look at how long the course is and what you actually learn. A lot of schools will just teach enough to scrape by on your test, good ones will teach you everything involved (log books, load securement, maintenance, TDG, birder procedures, etc).
Contact trucking companies looking for ones that will hire you. There's no point getting a CDL and not getting a job. From these companies get a list of driving schools that they hire from.
Call the schools you're interested in and find out who recruits from them in addition to the companies that get drivers from them. Ask the school about their placement rate. That is number of graduates to number of hires.
