    I presently have my own CDN operating authority from BC to ON and my direct shippers are bugging me to get my US authority. Who are these companies who do the forms and filing for obtaining US operating authority?

    Do it yourself on line.US Department of Transportation.

    In Canada, Operating Authorities don`t exist. Your Certificate that you have allows you to operate in all Canadian Jurisdictions. Maybe you only prorated from BC to Ontario

    I am only allowed to operate in the provinces I am pro rated for unless I buy trip permits, hence, my authority is good from BC to ON.

    Next year when you prorate, you will be prorated for ALL of Canada and the USA.

    Prorate has nothing to do with Authority. Your Safety Certificate allows you to go beyond Ontario and into any Jurisdiction in Canada.


    Just get your US DOT Number on line and you're good to go as long as your insurance filings are done.

    Get a certified lab to do the test and contact a Customs Broker or Canada Customs on how to do the PARS.

    There is an initial test for each driver, then he would have to belong to a pool for randoms if his company isn't big enough.

    Insurance filling
    BOC 3 filling
    DOT #
    MC #
    drug program
    IRS #
    SCAC code
    CBSA code (pars)
    UCR registration
    Kentucky PUC registration
    ACE account
    ACI account
    PARS and PARS labels
    Add the states needed to prorate

    You will need to keep equipment maintenance records, diver records(DOT).
