Was at foster creek. The contractor I was working for got shut down in the new phase. Other phases had cutbacks either in manpower or losing the second shift. The only thing not affected was maintenance contracts on operational phases.

I saw today when I was in the office where I am that a certain oil company is taking advantage and wanting us to lower our rates to 210 for a tri quad and 190 for a tri tri. And a rate of 165 for standby since they said a bunch of other company's were doing it for them.

Never had a condo in Calgary, that's just where I was working out of before. I have a condo back home in Langley.

I thought u had bought a slice down south... My mistake...

I saw an article I believe from Cenovus that they expect their contractors
to lower their rates by 10%.

I'm over in Fort St John, and I can see it slowing down. Alaska Highway isnt bumper to bumper with commercial trucks, no more waiting up to a half hour to get fuel at the cardlock, and the hotel parking lots are empty.

I'm a tanker O/O from Bonnyville, AB, its getting quite slow here too. Usually, there are a dozen drilling rigs in the area and now every second rig move ends at the rack yard. I've been hauling crude here since June of 2010 and its pretty quiet. Its even a lot quieter around town during the day now.

I've also heard that CNRL has tried for a 10% rate reduction out of their service providers across the board too, but not my circus and not my monkeys, altho I feel bad for the guys that have to take that hit to keep working.

Currently, we're down 12-20% of our daily workload where I'm at. It still a living, but you might have to eat KD occasionally. Oh well, KD ain't bad with a bit of Ketchup and better than nothing.

    Sarabeara Thanks this.

I haven't been able to figure out yet what the drop in oil price means for the Gas industry. Can someone spell out the connection for me, if there is one?
