Cancellations are routine. If the person the pass was issued to is no longer employed by the company that person was working for (or contracting for) the pass is supposed to be cancelled, for example. If a company ceases to exist the passes associated with that company are supposed to be reissued under the new company or cancelled. The fact that there are many unused outstanding port passes is sometimes due to lackadaisical pass administration by employers and contractors.
There should be 600 container driver pass cancellations this week.
The passes are associated with port security but they are almost never cancelled for security reasons. A criminal record or even associating with mafiosi or terrorists will not usually result in the cancellation of a pass (otherwise there are a couple of longshore foremen who would lose their passes).
If yours was cancelled I would ask the issuer why it was cancelled. It could be an administrative error or a routine cancellation, in which case you can have another one issued.orcen Thanks this. -
It's been reactivated, I should have elaborated by saying it was a problem with security at FSD. Thank god for dash cam footage. If I didn't have a camera I would be banned from the docks for life.

This one security guy has had it in for me since day 1. We had an altercation a couple Mondays ago and he said I threatened him.. Took Port Metro 10 days to look into it and call me in for my side of the story.. Talk about a stressful time
