Wait a minute, couldn't we trade him for two of ours? If he knows what signals and stop signs are we could make it five for one!

Yes, we're full of lazy workers with a hyperactive sense entitlement ..... gimme gimme gimme ..... and: 'What ?? You want ME to work for it ??? The Nerve !!'

So, NO, we're NOT full yet of people that are prepared to work a little bit for their benefits and pay !

Now, before anyone starts throwing anything at me, need I remind everyone that human beings ARE NOT native to North America. Even the 'native' natives come across the Baring Sea at some point. And Kudos to them ! At least they WALKED ! Everyone else took a boat or a plane ! We are all an invasive species ! But we're here now, some conquering others along the way ...... but we're here, so why not try to get along, hold government accountable, work, and play together !

I don't care if you believe in the Bible, or the science lab, at least both agree that man kind sprang from somewhere in Africa or the Middle East ! So why do we continue to piss on the people that want to follow in the foot steps of our ancestors ?? COME ! LIVE ! WORK ! PLAY ! PAY TAXES !!

Even if you have come to Canada from another planet, you're still an invasive species to this continent ! C'mon boys and girls, settle down or nobody gets desert after supper !!

    Thus endith the rant/lesson/opinion !

sorry to hear your sensitivity to the subject. But the ppl I work with pull their own weight and therefore should be compensated for it accordingly.
So its like I said "Sorry we're full!"
or how about, fit in or #### off!

I've gotta agree, if company's paid more maybe they could attract more and better local drivers and not have to import. I swear h and r survives by bidding low and making imports do they work since they work for nothing.

The temporary foreign worker program is doing to us what outsourcing did to the manufacturing sector.
If wages were acceptable, there would not be a shortage. Then we could screen out the unacceptable drivers and the roads would be safer.

Don't be sorry, I'm not sensitive. I am, however, educated, and worldly traveled. I'm also a truck driver because I love it.

I'm not attacking you personally. If the 'sorry we're full' reflects on the company you work for, GOOD ! Hopefully it stays that way. I'm sick and tired of slackers too. AND I don't care what color you are. I've had my fill of slackers from EVERY ethnic background. My point was/is applaud and the support the new guy if he's pulling is own. It shouldn't matter if he/she is from the far east, the far west, the other side of the planet, or the other side of the galaxy ! And I totally agree with the 'fit in or **** off' mentality .... I am sick and tired of my tax dollars being spent on mollycoddling the 'gimme's' ...... whether they're born in Canada, or not.

YES ! Fit in or piss off ! 90% of the 1st generation workers I have worked with shamed the 3rd, 4th, 5th, etc generation workers with their work ethic. Most learned it from the people that taught them to 'fit in or piss off'. The 10% that felt that the 'land o' plenty' owed them right off the bat were VERY quickly shown the door in my out fits ! Unfortunately, most of them were able to collect welfare or EI ..... or BOTH ....... I know of one that lived of my tax teat for 7 years, and after 9 ... yes !! NINE !! deportation orders, he finally had his ### kicked from here.

I'm not hear to fight ..... just educate based on my experiences. Give them all the benefit of the doubt. That's supposed to be our way here. When they screw it up ...... C YA ! AND OTTAWA ? ............ Enforce the C YA policy !

    JMHO

It's the same old argument, isn't it Nate. I can't see re-regulation happening in my lifetime, but that's what's needed. I think it's great that some poor sap can come from some war torn #### hole, and start a new life, but the industry loves him, the drivers hate him, and his life is only worth here what's written on that little card in his wallet. And we all know how the companies are staying competitive now, right ? Kudos to the immigrants !!!! With what they're getting paid, and the non-promise of a future, I'd put four drivers in the same tractor at the same time too ..... wouldn't you ?

    nate980 Thanks this.
