    Thats exactly why the Saudis never cut production. Americas oil production was growing too quickly and cutting imports of Saudi oil. The only way to reverse it was to flood the market with oil driving down prices and shutting down shale and oil sands production. American oil producers have cut capital expenditures but have not cut back production, actually the opposite.

    If the Saudis want to really shut us down they can. All they have to do is increase production and were hooped..

    I won't lie....I made decent money when things were going good. However, with that big money came big expenses. Product pumps, pto's, many shocks, broken springs and bushings, cracked frame. Etc. So it may sound like oil haulers are "raking it in" but not as much as one would think. Lol
    Thanks for the wishes tho...I hope they come back up too. TBH...I wish rates would come up for everyone in every aspect of trucking. I've been looking around at some long haul companies lately and couldn't believe what ridiculous amounts they are paying lease ops.
    But i won't be taking my truck OTR anyway...way too heavy. (Just about 23,000 half full of fuel)

    Absolutely cutthroat right now. Companies like filthy (clean) harbours are taking rates so low that the small guys have absolutely no chance of surviving. It's dog eat dog and the big dogs are getting the work. Owner of a small 3 truck hydro vac company had pretty decent job lined up 90-100 days to complete. $3200 a day. Clean harbours chops the rate to $2000 a day. After 11 days small guy packs up and moves out. #### good operator, quality work. But it's all about the dollars. These oil execs would cut their grandmothers of it meant a .5% profit increase. Phukers!!

    I'm not pulling oil and feel the effect of low oil prices and weak Canadian dollar; buying most of diesel in US with this exchange rate 1.26 CAD for 1 USD, sure hurts my pockets;

    This week I paid 2.59 usd/gal in Greenville Texas at QT/ --- 2.69$ @ pilot in Indianapolis/---- 2.44$ in Duty free Detroit;
    Still lower price than here in Ontario with the 1.26 exchange rate /;

    for example the highest price I paid 2.69, comes to 3.38 cad/gallon; and here in Ontario at Pilot in Tilbury was 1.24cad/l =4.71 cad/gal or 4.09 cad/gal without HST;

    Exactly! OPEC is actually being "nice" for not flooding the market. It's only a matter of time before we piss them off or they say to hell with it! lol
    Thats when the yanks go to war....

    Yeah that's a little more reasonable in the states. Almost 5 bucks a gallon is ridiculous. I get a decent price with my Coop card....About 3.60 a gallon before tax. If you can call that decent lol

    lol, nate our service rates for a 7 axle are lower than the standby rate of 150 in alberta. SE sask has become the retarded stepchild of low rate work in the patch, some companies are bidding out a 6 axle semi at $134 BUCKS AN HOUR NOW.

    Will those rates go up? I dunno, in 6 years the average rate for a tandem & quad went from 176 to 149, unless the bottom bid companies need work done badly enough to pay more again I can't see it. we had Husky running us night and day, desperate as hooker in church for 2 years when the Oungre field was drilled and each well coughed up 1600-2000 bbl a day but they never raised that rate a dime. Mullen, Gibson and Plains are all racing for the bottom just to keep making money even if they can't make a profit.
