Good Samaritan trucker robbed

Quote:
After stopping to help a seemingly stranded motorist, a truck driver ended up unconscious and robbed on Monday afternoon.
Around 3:30 p.m., the 45-year-old male truck driver was driving south on Highway 16 south of Lockwood, when he stopped to assist a driver who had flagged him to the side of the road. While attempting to assist the man, the truck driver was struck over the head with an unknown object and knocked unconscious.
According to the Lanigan RCMP, when the driver awoke, he found that money and credit cards had been removed from his wallet and the assailant had gone through his truck before leaving the scene. The victim suffered head injuries and was taken to hospital but was not seriously injured.

..heard of this happening when a 'woman' used the CB to flag down a driver to render her aide---was a setup!!! Beware drivers--there are the 'scammers' out there!!

Its sad but very true. I hate to pass someone sitting on the side of the road, but you never know these days. They may be robbers or just want to steal your truck. I do stop for locals that I recognize and a few truck companies that are around the area. But a complete stranger... no way... not unless they were hurt or their vehicle was on fire.

Yup, the best way to handle these things is to call 911, tell them the location. You can't trust anyone anymore. So sad.

Thumbs up

This has been going on for years. Pretty girl in trouble-guys with raging testosterone stops. Girls buds in bushes or backseat/truck jump good Samaritan. I have stopped in the past but mostly now days just make a call for them. To old to be handing out or receiving "knowledge bumps".
