Well the way I look at it...at least you have a truckstop to park at! I sure wish I did! Most times I consider myself lucky to find a wide spot on the road. Good luck with any bathroom facilites...not even an outhouse!

On that run from Edmonton to the Yukon, maybe Whitehorse, you definately have little to choose from after you leave Grande Prairie.
It is a lot different for the female drivers than the males, but when the other happens it is bad.
Those wide spots might have friends from the green trees around as well. -
And since you can practically spit across the couple of towns along the way...there's just not much for parking at all! -
That is why I stated it.
We stopped at a pull off west of Dawson city headed to Alaska. There was the trash there, Styrofoad food containter.
I looked at it and it had a decent size bear paw print through it. Made we think twice and look around.
And don't you love the no parking signs because of the chemicals in the area signs? -
Screwed up and posted in wrong spot, deleted the post and moved on. sorry!!!

This is all why i hate parking at truck stops. But with paperless logs and short runs i am constantly battling my 14 hour clock and i need to shower and sometimes have a good meal. Pickle parks fill up fast, etc etc etc....
To make it even worse, i have a few truck stops that i am actively boycotting because of a-hole management, which further reduces my parking. Hell, i'm parked at a flying J and for a while i tried to boycott the whole chain. But when i did, it sure seemed like it was teh only place i was authorized to fuel up.....Bah. -
I've not run into too many problems at the j in SE, but there are parts of the industrial area you can safely park at if you know the side streets well enough. The roadking and esso on 50th also can get full at times. If your headed south or dont mind stopping a bit outside town, the petro canada at hwy 7 is usually only half full.
