This week, thousands of area residents flocked to the Centre Wellington Sportsplex to take in all things shiny at the Fergus Truck Show.
It is, then, somewhat appropriate to reflect on the impact the trucking industry has on this province — and on this country — as a whole.
Chances are, if you have it, a truck brought it.

Even the newspaper you are now holding in your hand was transported, in part, by a truck driver.
The newsprint that was used to print this paper was also shipped by truck, for at least part of its journey.
And that’s just one item.

There are many people who never stop to realize just how important our truckers are, and that everything they get came off of a truck. I myself didn't even really think about it until my husband became a driver. They really are so important.

Yup, even the smokie's cruiser who pulls over the trucker for "violations" should thank truckers for transporting his car over.
