The discovery of a stolen tractor-trailer with a load of beer has led police to a Georgetown warehouse where they found more purloined rigs that had been stolen in the Greater Toronto Area over the last four months.
Police estimate the total value of the vehicles, trailers and cargo to be about $1 million.
Halton Detective Sergeant Murray Drinkwalter said the investigation, which involved an OPP organized crime unit, evolved from the discovery of the tractor-trailer and beer in Georgetown on Aug. 3, shortly after it was stolen from Peel.
