Dot's Cracking down on Accessories??

I heard DOTs are cracking down on DROP VISORS, LOWRIDER SEATS and who know whatelse. Drop Visors can't be any lower than the windshield Wipers Wipe. Heard they're getting picky in (Rat Land) aka Saskatchewan.

not surprised I was talking to a Maine dot about lights one day and he was telling me extra cab (roof) lights are technically illegal, because they take away from the symbolic spacing of the 5 lights that are supposed to be there.

I am in a car hauler, and my headrack(deck over hood) only leaves 14" of space between the deck and hood if I have a large suv up there.


I do have a custom low-rider seat too to combat this problem.

I seen a couple of days ago, O/O with a chrome visor tilted all the way down to about 2-3" from the bottom of there windshield. I'm sure it had to be illegal but I kept wondering. How the heck could he see down the road ?

I believe it's simply what you get used to. In my honest opinion no one, in a law enforcement position or otherwise, has a right to tell a driver what they can and cannot see, based on how there rig is setup.

I sit on the floor and practically driving from the bed in my W900L, because I am so tall. With how I sit, you can't tell I am in the truck from the side, and you have to look close from the front. I've been spending 40% of my time doing city work all over major cities in the last few months, and I have no problems seeing what I need to see, while some other drivers ask me how I can.

All in what your used to and what is comfortable to you. IMO, if your comfortable, you pay more attention, because you are comfortable, I personally can't sit in the sky like some others might like too.

bison told my dad to cut down, buy a new one or put no sunvisor on cause they said it was ilegal in saskatiwon but my dad is keeping it on and said im not taking it off hahahaha

Honestly, what is the world coming to?

If someone wants a huge drop visor, let them. If they want 14 foot tall pipes that are 10 inch diameter, let them. If they want a solid row of cab lights, who gives a crap?

It is all just to make money, something else to bring in income from tickets.

My old is putting a nice drop visor on in the next few weeks, and I will be darned if anyone tries to tell him what to do with HIS OWN TRUCK!

I agree with you Tank33!!! Drop visors, extra cab lights, underglow, Big Pipes, it's our home away from home that we're proud of!! and know the DOTs are ticketing for it!! UNBELIEVABLE... but 4-wheelers can drive around with burnt out tailights/headlights and not get stopped and ticketed, old campers driving down the highway with propane bottles tied to the back of them, how safe is that?? Enforcement don't seem to bother them. Like WTF?? Doesn't make sense.

i know im a little late to this party but wanted to get my 2 cents in
like chixdiggit said the trucks are our home away from homes so let us dress it up how we want. i mean like we dont tell DOTs how to dress there homes up now do we? around xmass time they have thousands of lights on there homes and we cant even have 2 extra lights then what the factory gave us? they should just think of it as we are putting the lights up for xmass all year round LOL thanks

Technically you can't have a lot of chicken lights on your truck or wagon here in the maritimes, because the law says you can't have more than 3 lights in any horizontal line.
