So far I am NOT impressed with the 6.4....I have a seen several of those that are nothing but trouble. I have been a Ford man for years, but, if I was in the market for a new truck I wouldn't be buying a Ford this go around.

i don't have a newer diesel, it is an 88 ford 250 with 7.3. it gets 18-18.5. i like that part, will pull trailor fine, not fast but i get there. down side is 10 qts oil at a change, 35 dollar fuel filter, i think the cummins is about twice that. most every part is higher than gas. extra weight with diesel is hard on front end parts. and now diesel is higher than gasoline. so i guess if i can outlive this truck, which is not likely, i will get a gasser next.

My last truck was a 2002 F350. I could not stand the 6.0 and would not even consider the 6.4.

Between the 6k initial cost of the diesel, and the extra 30 to 50 cents a gallon more on fuel, plus the extra oil it takes for an oil change it's not worth it.
Unless you plan on driving this truck a LOOOONG time it's not worth it IMO.
That's a good point.

That must be a Wyoming thing. Most of the states the diesel is higher than gas.

I currently have an F-350 4x4 crew cab dually with the 7.3 and love this truck....bought it brand new and you couldn't GIVE me a 6.0 or 6.4. Last thing I need is a 50k truck in the driveway that is a turd.

Ronno, is there a chance you have those numbers backwards?

I just checked prices here and diesel is 37 cents a gallon higher than gas.

This one will remain 100% stock and let the system protect it.
