Please...

Damn things don't even have 4WD low.

What a misnomer the term "sport-utility vehicle" is. Too much "sport", and not enough "Utility".

For that I'd rather have a shiny, chromed out R-Model Mack dump truck with twin stacks. I'd love to see the looks on their faces when every time I stomp the pedal the resulting smoke cloud blocks out the sun.

I would have to go with a International CXT Pickup. Hook up a 4x8 trailer with a little 80cc quad on it then take it to the International dealer to trade it in for something a little bigger to pull my quad. Would be fun to drive it to a green peace rally too.

A class 8 truck to drive to a fancy restaurant or hotel with valet parking!

Preferably with twin sticks!

Minivan

Uh...I hate to admit it. But I actually owned a "shock" affect car for awhile. Used for hunting, and first dates

A 1988 Suzuki Samuri with 3 inches of lift, huge tires, and completely trashed on the inside. You couldn't open the dorrs from the inside It really weeded out the trash on a date. If they agreed to a second one, I picked em up in the Caddie for that one

My old boss plows snow with a 2003 Excursion.

For shock effect, I'll take a Pinto wagon, powered by a 2.3 turbo from a Thunderbird or SVO Mustang.

I'm thinking one of those big monster trucks, and driving over the top of my ex's 05 grand prix that i paid off last month. I think that would have some shock effect. Am i still bitter over that? Naw, not me.

I'm not sure anyone here will appreciate this, but keep in mind that I've never driven a big truck. So... my "shock effect" vehicle would be a Kenworth T2000 (with sleeper, of course) in which I could commute the two miles to and from work each day. And since I spend most of my time within the little community in which I was born and still live, I'd probably run as many errands in it as possible, too. And when things get hectic here at home, I might just live in the doggone thing for a while as well.

A distant second choice would maybe be a Rolls... with a big ol' trailer hitch welded to the frame for towing, well, whatever. And maybe a bumper sticker or two:

I'd keep that hitch ball greased with a nice yellow tennis ball over it. But truth be told, tho, I don't like Rolls. Goofy lookin' cars, if ya' ask me.

Yeah... gimme the T2...

Built for fun

Back about 1988 I built a 71 Opel GT 4x4 tow truck. I used an Opel GT body on an ex fire brush truck frame. I shortened the Chevy 1 ton frame to 100" wb, mounted a Ramsey 8000 lb winch between the rear frame rails with a stinger boom & towing sling. It had a 350-4v, 4 speed, Rockwell transfer case & 5:38 gears & rode on 17/40x16.5 mudders. Rig was a blast to drive & drew crowds every where.I'd show up to pull out a stuck vehicle out in the mud flats & freak people out with the power this thing had. Those mudders would throw a rooster tail about 50' in the air when I nailed it to snatch someone out. I'll try to find a picture to post.

The truck I own now, a 94 International 3700 that started life as a short school bus, gets plenty of attention too. I'm building it to use for hurricane evac, pulling my racecar & my work as a mechanic. It's usable at this point but nowhere near finished. So far I have a 2000 watt inverter for my 6000 btu A/C, apt. fridge, 600 watt microwave & 19" color TV. Currently building some cabinets to hide the porta potty & create some storage, I will also be adding a seating area that will fold out to a queen size bed. So far I've got about $6500 invested in this project that got started because I couldn't find a decent crew cab dually for $10-12,000.

I also have a 81 VW pickup (only built 4 yrs.) & a Suzuki Savage 650 I pull a trailer built using a 5'Lx2'W aluminum diamond plate tool box & a trailer kit from Harbor Freight.
I'm used to getting stares & thumbs up from people!!

Oh , and my Mustang mini-stock has a wind up key that turns, a real horses' tail that wags & a Kermit doll riding in his own custom racing seat!
