| just went out and test drove a new mustang...your thoughts? yea, im thinking about getting a new car in the next few months...ive got a jeep wrangler now, love it, have had 4 of them..jeeps are just my thing...but, i like muscle too...and, i would like a car to drive bc i wheel the hell outa my jeep to much and right now, with it being my only driver, am always worried about something breaking..an axle shaft, u-joint, drive shaft, getting to much water in the engine while crossing a deep stream on a trail ride...now, i am keeping the jeep, but just making it a dedicated trail rig, and fix it up to look new and run new which will mean itll be down for a while at times so itll be nice to have another car to drive while i have it apart so i decided to go look at a new mustang today...never have even been in one of the newer ones....but i loved it...i only test drove the 4.0 V-6 model bc thats most likely what ill get unless i can find a used GT, 05 or newer thats in my price range. but i gotta say, the V-6 is a peppy little car...it was a LOT faster then i thought it would be...and it was an auto...i want a manual, which should be even more fun to drive... i was going to get another jeep, a newer one, probably one of those rubicon wranglers for those of you who know what the rubicon is..i had an 06 Rubi for 2 years and miss the hell outa it...but i have an older wrangler now, and decided bc of gas prices, it would be a better idea to go with a car since my jeep gets 15MPG and the Rubi i want gets 12 MPG..lol anyways, whats your thoughts on the 05-present Mustang V-6 and gt model...any one have any experience with one |

| Mom's got an '06 or '07 Mustang convertible with the 4.0 and I must say it's pretty quick (stops quick, too--on dry roads, anyway). I'm not sure if you ever have any passengers, but if so ask the dealer for another test drive--say you want the salesman to drive around town while you ride in the back. It's a nice little sports car, but I can't sit in the back of that thing for more than 15 minutes. Also, it has no middle seatbelt in the back. Anyway, I think she's planning to sell it, if you're interested. Low miles, too. |

but ive had small sports cars before and my friends hate me when they rode in back...lol. i had a Mitsubishi Eclipse 2003 GTS 5 spd. talk about a cramped back seat...lol...its more cramped then the newer mustangs.. that GTS was pretty quick too...not quite as much so as a newer V-6 stang, but it wasnt bad...the Manual, like i had, did 0-60 in 7 seconds flat, and the mustang V-6 manual does it in around 6.7 or so i believe...but i like the style of the mustang a lot |

| Personally, I hate Mustangs, but I must say that 4.0 is pretty quick for a V-6. Did you try turning the tires over with that 4.0? Nearly impossible to do. Anyway, every time I go home, I like to get in my Tahoe, driver her around the block a few times to warm up the motor, then let it rip. |

lol..i bet...i would have hated to get a ticket going over a hundred..lol im not sure what the top end is on a V-6 stang, but its not like id ever do it...im more of a fan of acceleration then i am of top end...i like that feeling of being pinned back in my seat...and that auto did just fine at pleasing me, so i cant wait to see how a manual feels but yea, back in my High school days i loved going fast...lol...got my liscence taken away a day after i turned 17..lol..and a few years ago i had lexus GS400 with 300 HP. that moved very well...i had it up to 135 but it was good for 160....but that was the last time i went that fast or any where near...im afraid of getting caught, but even more so, of hitting a deer...a friend of mine had a 2001 Trans Am WS-6. when he gave me a ride in it, we had it up pretty high on those back roads, but after that he never went into the triples again...just bc of the threat of deer that we have here in the back roads of ohio...a deer could easily kill you hitting one at even 60..let along 135 ive also been seeing on youtube, that you can make that V-6 mustang sound like a really nice v-8 with a good dual exhaust kit |

the tahoes are nice, and fast for their size, but i doubt it could beat the mustang at all...im pretty sure they are governed way before the mustang..id be willing to bet its governed at less then 110 MPH and yes, i tried turning the tires...didnt do it so well even with the trac off. but i floored it while coming left out of a stop sign and it went wild on me then..lol |

| I like the new Mustangs a lot I am still driving my old 95 GT it has 198,000 miles and still runs great. It uses no oil and gets 25 MPG on the highway 20 around town.It wont hardly spin the tires on dry pavement, but it will easily pass 100 before it shifts into drive and the computer doesn`t shut the engine down either.About the only thing I have ever done to it is general maintenance, brake pads and tires. If the 08`s are as good as my old one it will make a great car.As far as the back seat goes who cares what passengers think ![]() |

| NOT Coming from someone that owned a 65 and a 67 at different times....they are not the old Mustangs. I too thought about getting one and walked away very depressed. Just was not like the old ones. But hey what is ? |

definitely...i agree 100%. but i dont want an old one...i want a modern one..lol.. but i was just talking today with some one about something like this. in 40 years, are our generations mustangs going to be considered classic? i mean, when i think of classic, i dont think of comfy leather interior, 6 air bags, tiny steering wheel, and a shaker 1000 stereo with subs filling the trunk. when i think of classic muscle, i think of raw power, no computers or airbats, a big wooden steering wheel with three chrome spokes, and a rough harsh ride BUT, i dont want that..lol...like i said, i want a comfortable, modern muscle car bc i get enough harshness out of my 93 jeep wrangler with still as HELL leaf springs..lol and i love how they GTs sound now adays with a good exhast system |
