I keep up.

I based my NEV post on WeatherLady's top-speed spec.

Still waiting for the BIG breakthrough in battery technology. So far we've had a lot of little ones, and the range is still in Baker territory.

A hybrid should provide enough heat in the winter. Engines are most efficient when warm, so the on/off cycle shouldn't kick in until the engine is warmed up (I THINK). If the idea is to save fuel, running around with the engine cold sure ain't a good way to do it.

As far as pure electrics go, maybe blowing some air over the motor controller would heat up the cabin? But you'd have nothing until you're underway, and then not a whole lot. Probably have to use an auxiliary heater, either electric or fueled. Remember the old gasoline heaters they sold for VW's?

The other answer, of course, is you'd bask in the warm, self-assured glow of the true greenie. And wear layers.

I bet with the solar panels they'll go 40.5 miles
Are you sure it isn't a NEVER? As in NEVER catch me driving one?

I don't care.. it would get me to the grocery store and back without having to walk.. it would haul a few more groceries than a bike.. and besides, it's so cute!
