Man to sell truck 1 million miles

Man to sell truck with more than 1 million miles
8/13/08
Quote:
CATAWBA, Wis. (AP) -- The owner of a 1991 Chevrolet Silverado that's traveled more than 1 million miles is parting with what he affectionately calls his "old girl."
Frank Oresnik said his pickup with 1.03 million miles goes on sale on eBay on Thursday night. The minimum bid is $30,000 and the auction continues for 10 days.
The 58-year-old northern Wisconsin man says he wants his pickup to go to someone who can display it because it is so unique.
He hopes it sells for more than $100,000.
Oresnik attracted national attention in February when he reached the 1 million mile mark while doing a live interview on National Public Radio.
He says the truck has had four radiators, three gas tanks and five transmissions but the engine is still original.

I had a guy want to sell me a 1976 Chevy for $4,000 with 276,000 miles and I told him to KMA. It was right down the road from me and I thought 'sweet,' and I offered $2,000...he told me he would back up into garage if he didn't get what he wanted...I told him to give me the keys and I would back into garage for him, sigh...he acted like it was a "show truck!"

Be careful Wise...
Some of those old Silverado's owners are one way about those trucks.
Best to try to haggle them down via phone or at least arms length away. Some take umbrage at your downgrading their babys'.
Most of those trucks (in good condition) will bring more than they cost new.

He actually has a reserve on a starting bid of $29,999.99 I hope he doesn't actually think someone is going to buy this.
