My dad bought this 1953 Chevy in Middleville, Michigan when I was eleven. When I was sixteen, I installed Fenton headers. The six was actually louder with one stock muffler and one glass pack than it would have been with two glass packs. Notice the traffic light finder.

Hmmm...first one I can remember was a 1955 (?) Pontiac, with the pushbutton automatic transmission. My dad loved that car, but I don't remember what happened to it. After that was a 1963 Rambler 4 door....not a bad car I guess, but definitely not something that I'd want to own today.

1956 red and white Ford Crown Victoria (bought used in 1957 if I remember correctly)
Born in 1953, I remember this car well; the day after dad came home in it, we drove across the state to visit the New Orleans zoo; a big deal for me! An employee actually let me follow him around the back of the lion's cage where he first threw in just enough food to start a feeding frenzy. Believe that was the first time since diaper years that I darn near crapped my pants.
Tarzan also became my new hero that day!

Right about that!!!!
As family grew, it was traded for a four door 1959 Fairlane, I think. Long, with sort of fins that extended to the taillights. BUMMER!

In her later years, my aunt married a fellow that had a black and white '56 Crown Victoria, think it had the 312 Thunderbird V-8. That fellow, when single, would go drinking in the nearby larger town, and usually wound up in trouble. He ran from that city's cops so many times, that they were going to impound and keep the car if they caught him. I remember aunt complaining about having to go get groceries in the old p/u, not to lose the car. They divorced, and last I saw of it, it was backed up under a lean-to on side of barn sitting on flat tires. Used to be uncle had took really sick, unable to drive, but refused to sell that car.
