My father had a 69 chevy green van (the green machine). When I killed my first car, I got the pleasure of driving this. It was great..NOT..no keys needed, you just shimmied under the front and tapped this metal tube looking thing with a small hammer and away it would go. My older brother had if before me and well he had decked it out with a love seat in the back, shag carpet, the floor had a hole in it that one could screw a table into, the windows had curtains. Such a grooooovy looking ride.
Dont know if moms was any better, dont know the year but it was the really long/big chrysler new yorker, yellow in color and when she parked it in front of the house it seems to take up the whole driveway.

When I was a little girl my mom had a navy blue Pontiac station wagon. They sold that in 1974 and dad gave her a baby blue Mercedes Benz 240D for her birthday that year. Some 20 years later, she purchased a used 300 turbo D Mercedes in a beigeish color. She now drives a Mercedes C240. I guess you could say she is brand loyal.

I vaguely recall my dad's black pickup with red leather interior. When I was maybe 3 or 4 he traded that in for a white Ford Econoline van which he used for his 2nd job an exterminating business. After that he had a used lt. blue Chevy Caprice wagon. When that started to become a money pit he sold it and started driving moms old Benz. When that finally bit the dust they were both retired and decided they could live with just one car and did until they moved to Georgia in 2004. In 2005 dad purchased his first new vehicle in over 30 years. A Mercury Grand Marquis or as I like to call it the land yacht or the official retirement car of old men in NJ.

My Dad had two Studebakers. Don't remember what years, etc. A bit older, we had a Rambler station wagon... probably 60-61 model. Went across the country from New Hampshire to... well, Missouri... first Rambler died. Dad bought another one from the shop... just like the old one. Made it to California. It died, Mom got a 57 BelAir... sweet!

'59 four door Chevy Impala, don't remember the color though. I also remember my mom driving an old Rambler wagon. My dad also had an old 1 ton red '49 GMC truck with racks to haul horses. I think for awhile, that's all they had to drive after they got rid of the other cars. Later on, they bought a "new" '68 Impala, and a '46 Chevy pickup in mint condition. My dad kicks himself for this, but he traded the pickup in on a new '72 GMC Jimmy.
